University of North Carolina at Pembroke Description:

The University of North Carolina at Pembroke has a rich history having been founded in 1887 as a school for educating American Indian teachers. Today it is a public master's degree-granting university that is part of the University of North Carolina System. The school still embraces its Native American heritage with its "Braves" team name, BraveHawk mascot, and Arrowhead campus monument.
